Yinka Sowemimo–Coker speaks to ecancer at London Global Cancer Week 2025 about her lived experience as a pancreatic cancer survivor and also her work as the founder of DChanger.
She explains the difficulties she faced in receiving a cancer diagnosis despite showing all the symptoms of pancreatic cancer and being in and out of hospital for one year.
Yinka describes how a second referral led to an eventual diagnosis of pancreatic cancer followed by 6 months of treatment with chemotherapy and entry into a clinical trial.
Her experience led her to set up DChanger - a charity which looks to faith and community to provide holistic support for those undergoing a cancer diagnosis.
