Prof Anne Marie Rafferty speaks to ecancer at the 2019 UKONS conference in Telford about the importance of the safe staffing of nurses.

She elaborates on a particular study which identified an association between the number of nurses and patient outcomes across Europe - in which a low number of nurses resulted in poorer patient outcomes.

With the right policy changes, Prof Rafferty believes the shortage and retention of nurses can be improved.
