After nearly 20 years of enormous shake-ups in provision, evidence is now emerging that the impact on reducing inequalities of cancer outcomes and significantly improving survival rates has not only been disappointingly absent, but there is evidence of a persistent and even growing survival “gap” both across the UK and across Europe in a number of tumour types.
