Dr Nicola Giuliani - University of Parma, Parma, Italy

Dr Giuliani talks to ecancertv at ICMM 2016 about his research on myeloma bone disease.

He explains how tumours prevent bones from repairing and describes the plight of patients with fractures and bone pain.

Thus far, the treatment has been bisphosphonates, but there are new drugs on the horizon that may have a positive effect on bone remodelling, he says, such as the combination of monoclonal antibodies and immunotherapy drugs.
