She begins by outlining the challenges in validating liquid biopsy biomarkers for African populations and also the main technical barriers for implementing them in African healthcare systems.

Dr Salhia explains that industry, government and university partnerships as well as training facilities are all needed to help bring liquid biopsies to Africa.
