Dr Carlos Rodriguez-Galindo - St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, USA

Dr Carlos Rodriguez-Galindo discusses cancer medicine shortages for children around the world. He says children with cancer require a comprehensive effort to diagnose, treat and support them.

He says access to essential medicine is important and the gap in this access globally needs to be addressed. Dr Rodriguez-Galindo explains that unless we address the shortage and poor quality of cancer medicines in many parts of the world, there are very few options to cure these children.

Health care providers must have access to a reliable source of cancer medicines that constitute the current standard of care. He concludes by talking about St. Jude and WHO's effort in achieving the goal of reducing paediatric cancer care inequalities globally.
